The Iowa Great Lakes: Home to Hafer Boats

The Iowa Great Lakes are found in northwestern Iowa, just below the Minnesota border. Large and scenic, these lakes have provided generations of Iowans and visitors an ideal setting for fishing, boating, and lakeside living. Hafer built boats here for 70 years, and the Hafer legacy lives on here.

Long the focal point of antique and classic boating in Iowa, the Okoboji area maintains the tradition through the members of the Jerry Dyhrkopp Iowa Great Lakes Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society. Here's a brief vignette of their 2019 show:
