work session on our 1934 Columbia River One Design 02/27/07, showing Lew
White making the plank rabbet in the new keel section.
Notice his nifty little rabbet
plane in picture # 2. Both the keel section and the gripe (lower stem
section) are shown clamped into place in Picture # 4 the keel section is
joined to the old keel with a scarf joint.
Next step will be bolting it all
together with galvanized carriage bolts and then fitting the planks.
