Sale of Gomes Gar Wood to Benefit Club

There's a new arrival at the WBA Shop in Lucas...a Gar Wood utility owned by Mike Gomes. Mike's decided to reduce his fleet a bit, and has very graciously agreed to split the proceeds on the sale of this boat with the Club in exchange for getting the boat ready for sale.

Initial inspection reveals some bottom work and some seam work on the topside are required, but as you can see from the photos, the boat is a real gem. Work days will be scheduled in the near future, so come lay your hands on this beauty.

The Utility is powered by a Gray Marine six-cylinder engine and has a rare, original instrument cluster.

Special thanks to Mike for this generous contribution to the WBA!

Wood, Waves & Wheels Successful Despite Weather Threats

Bob Cutler tends the lines on his '67 Resorter while an admirer checks out Troy Marshall's Princess B.

Bob Van Guilder's Fine Wine gets some well-deserved looks, while David Kanally's Cowell demeures in the background.

This nice-looking Model A was one of dozens of antique and classic cars present at the WWW show.

Cloudy skies and 30 mph winds did not deter faithful members of the WBA from participating in the Wood, Waves & Wheels show on May 9 at the Fort Worth Boat Club.

The Club's lakeside grounds provided the ideal setting for showing many classic cars, motorcyles and boats. Although the WBA members went early, it was a bit too windy to do much boating, so the group tied up and enjoyed the show.

Bob Van Guilder's Fine Wine took Best of Show during the awards presentation at the evening banquet. A good showing at at great event! Special thanks to Eagle Mountain Classic Boat Club and the Fort Worth Boat Club for holding this memorable show. Watch a short video of the event now!
